This great French designer began his prolific career in the 1940s. He was trained in cabinetmaking by François Sebesta, a master in the field. Quinet soon abandoned mass-produced furniture for luxury furniture. He furnished prestigious private residences, including the Paris residence of Iranian Prince Amini, from which these armchairs and stools originate. They illustrate Quinet's particular attention to elegant lines and accurate proportions. He uses precious materials to create furniture that is functional, refined, sober and classic. (MLD)
