VICTORIOUS HERCULES, FRANCE C.1890. Bronze Sculpture made in bronze representing Hercules Victorious after the triumph over the twelve labors. A set that shows a half-naked Hercules carrying in his left arm the goddess Athena and Victory, in his right hand the mace, raised on numerous elements that describe his labors, among them, the fur of the lion, the heads of the hydra or a nymph of the Garden of the Hesperides. In addition, other symbolic elements such as the papal tiara and mitre or the monarchical crowns and decorations that allude to the victory of the Republic over the Church and the Monarchy, are accompanied by two emblems: a papal coat of arms and a French monarchical emblem.
