Simon Warnberger
Simon Warnberger (1769 Pullach near Munich - Munich 1847), Wide hilly landscape with two hikers.
Pen and brown ink, brown wash over pencil, on laid paper with trimmed watermark. 14.4 x 19.2 cm. Inscribed "Warenberger" (sic) in an unknown hand verso.
In collector's mount. - Single tiny black spots (probably traces of workshop). In very good condition.
Provenance: Heinrich Wilhelm Campe (1770-1862), Leipzig, lower left with the dry stamp (Lugt 1391); Heinrich Brockhaus Collection (1804-1874), Leipzig, since then in family possession.
