France: Chasseur à Cheval officer's saber. Gilded brass mounting of the type used by officers of the Chasseurs à Cheval de la Garde Impériale, long cap in lion-head stock, watermarked leather handle, curvilinear diamond-shaped mounts stamped with a head of Athena. Curved blade, decorated and blued in thirds, potentially changed at the fall of the Empire (rivet knob hammered and not regular). Brass two-ring scabbard with two squared bracelets. Empire - Restoration. Oxidation.
