Philippe d'Orléans, commonly known as the Régenta, was born on August 2, 1674 in Saint Cloud and died on December 2, 1723 in Versailles, was regent of the kingdom of France France during the minority of Louis XV. Grandson of Louis XIII and son of Philippe de France, Duc d'Orléans, also known as "Monsieur", younger brother of Louis XV. "Monsieur", younger brother of Louis XIV, he was Duc de Chartres, then Duc d'Orléans (1701), Duc de Valois de Valois, Duc de Nemours and Duc de Montpensier. The period of his government, which lasted from 1715 to 1723, is known as the Regency.
