Capote de paseo by matador Antonio Bienvenida in yellow silk satin, richly embroidered with flowers and foliage in polychrome silk thread and silver thread, embellished with sequins and faceted pearls. Floral and red silk lining (alterations and silk removed in places). Circa 1950. Height Height : 93 cm Provenance according to the family: Offered by Antonio Bienvenida (1922-1975) son of El Papa Negro to Gaspard Lloret, manager of the Oran bullring in 1954. By direct descent. On March 4, 1954, it is attested that Antonio Bienvenida is presented in Oran as a matador with a classical and elegant style before his bullfight on March 13, 1954. As the largest bullring on the African continent, Oran has welcomed famous matadors such as El Cordobès. Closed from 1936 to 1954, their reopening coincided with the arrival of Bienvenida.
