Jérôme-René DEMOULIN (1758-1799). The Popes' Palace in Avignon. Watercolor. Height 21 - Width: 30 cm (small pitting and slight traces of wetness in the upper part) A neoclassical landscape architect, Jérôme-René Demoulin studied at the Société des Beaux-Arts in his native Montpellier, founded by Abraham Fontanel. Like Jacques Moulinier, he also taught at the Ecole des Arts, Ponts et Chaussées. Several of his drawings are currently on display at the Musée Fabre.
