With an original etching. "Métamorphose de Narcisse". Editions surréalistes. 1937. Unnumbered copy. Dedicated and signed. Four letters, dedications and postcards addressed by Dali to Puig Pujades are enclosed. Translation of the transcription of the letters: 1. Letter 1. My dear friend; Forgive me for not writing to you sooner, as you must know, of XXX's death. Within a few days I shall be sending him my last book. I hope it will have the [X] to give him a few pleasant or at least entertaining hours. Gala and I are [XXX] Your friend DALI 2. Letter 2. Friend Puig Pujades, By mail you will receive my latest book, in which is reproduced one of my last works. In the autumn, we'll see each other as we had decided XXX to make a big propaganda film for abroad, which we'd come to Barcelona and [on the coast?] "Montserrat" (big mountain with sanctuary), "Gaudi", the sardana "xiquets de valls" (troupe of castellers, surely), etc. etc.... Everything that makes up Catalonia's "originality phenomenon". Did you receive the package of newspapers I sent him from New York? And now a favor I want to ask of you. I'd like to send some money to the fishermen of Port Lligat, to help them a little in these difficult times, since they are (were?) all our friends. The mayor of Cadaquès already knows how to divide the amount, the problem being to get the money there, as the banks don't want to take responsibility for sending it and I lost the amount once in Perpignan, and you could take care of getting it to the mayor of Cadaquès. I would be very grateful in advance. I'd love to hear your impressions, and if you have them to hand, I'd love some weekly newspapers from Figueres. Salvador Dali Homage to your wife from me and Gala. 3. Comments to the visible woman: Distinguished friend, Forgive me for simply passing you a press copy but, in the contract I have with (the publisher?) I unfortunately do not have any copies. (xxx) in the copy I sent him and xxx everything is naturally quite inferior in terms of presentation (e.g.) a metal (strip?) is missing in front of Gala's habit, which makes it look like a mirror (xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx). If you're interested, I have a deluxe copy on xxx (marble?), (xx xxxx xx) (Costis?) the (least?) possible, (xxx xx, of the unit are already subscribed) I miss never hearing from you. XXX to your wife and friends, see you in two weeks. Best regards Dali Thanks to Mr. Tomas Bres Pintat for his version of the letters.
