79 pages decorated with pen-and-ink drawings on tracing paper of butterflies and caterpillars, each tracing bordered with a green satin ribbon (some missing). Followed by a 14-page alphabetical table. The title page is dated "November and December 1881". It features a fine drawing of a monkey in a palm tree fighting with a snake. The second part, devoted to moths, is dated "January and February 1882". All specimens are named. 27.5 x 44 cm. Half-bound, spine ribbed and decorated with flowers. Stains and brown spots.
