First edition, illustrated with 20 beautiful original compositions by Mathurin Méheut, engraved in the text or on the full page, including 2 on the cover, and stenciled by Jean Saudé. A superb children's book on the theme of marine flora and fauna, the fruit of a two-year collaboration between writer and artist. Edition of 750 copies, this one on Vidalon vellum. Preserved in a window box-sleeve designed by Devauchelle. Some foxing on the front cover and fillings.
