Famous edition, known as the Fermiers-Généraux because they had it printed at their own expense, illustrated with 2 portraits (La Fontaine and Eisen) engraved by Ficquet, 80 figures by Eisen engraved in intaglio by Aliamet, Baquoy, Choffard, Flipart, Lemire, etc., and numerous culs-de-lampe and vignettes by the master ornamentalist Choffard.
