ENRIQUE SALAMANCA (Cadiz, 1943). "Triangulation", 1974. Stainless steel mobile sculpture. Exemplary 23/100. Signed, dated and justified on the base. Measurements: 43 x 25 x 11 cm. Painter and sculptor, José Enrique Fernández y Enríquez de Salamanca, better known as Enrique Salamanca, was formed in Madrid, where he studied Fine Arts and drawing. In 1965 he lived on the island of Ibiza, and also during these years he made some drawings for the architect José Luis Sert. In 1968 he opened his own silkscreen workshop, through which he collaborated with the artists of the Carl Van der Voort gallery. During the seventies he comes into contact in Madrid with the artists of the groups El Paso and Grupo 57, and is part of the Nueva Generación. In 1973 he was awarded the Gold Medal at the VI Biennial of Sculpture in Zaragoza, and in 1978 he spent several months in Mallorca, where he participated in a tribute to Joan Miró. By then he had already held important solo exhibitions in Madrid, Bilbao, Zaragoza and other cities, and participated in group exhibitions in Spain, Brazil, France, Hungary and other countries. In 1984 he received his first major institutional commission, a sculpture by Tierno Galván for the Madrid City Hall. He is currently represented in important collections such as the Sa Nostra in Palma or the Juan Huarte in Madrid, as well as in the Villafamés Museum in Castellón, the Salvador Allende International Museum, the Contemporary Art Museums of Madrid and Zaragoza, the Estrada Saladich in Barcelona, the Lanzarote and Rafael Alberti in Cádiz, the Juan March Foundation in Madrid, etc.
