Contains Histoire de Pierre de Provence et de la Belle Maguelone (1776). Histoire de Robert le Diable, Duc de Normandie (1783). Histoire de Richard sans peur, Duc de Normandie, fils de Robert le Diable (1783). History of Fortunatus (1776). History of the children of Fortunatus (1775/1776). History of Jean de Calais based on new memoirs (1776). Les 4 fils d'Aymon, Histoire Héroïque (1783). The Blue Library takes its name from the color of the inexpensive paper cover that protected these popular editions. They were largely distributed by peddlers in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Normandy was, along with Champagne (Troyes), a major printing center for these works. Six beautiful etched figures by Desrais in the first edition (Cohen, 145). This collection rehabilitates popular literature, which will cease to be despised.
