JEAN PIERRE HÉRON (Bordeaux,1861-1909) "Landscape". Oil on canvas. Signed in the lower right corner. Measurements: 32,5 x 40,5 cm; 40 x 47 cm (frame). Jean-Pierre Héron, was a student of the landscape painter Hippolyte Pradelles. He was part of the ephemeral group of Port-Berteau (1862-1863) together with Camille Corot or Gustave Courbet, this love for nature, together with his pictorial experimentations always more innovative, were transmitted from Pradelles to his pupil. Héron went further in plastic and aesthetic research, and approached the impressionist line to capture the movement of nature and capture the ambient light. From 1889, he exhibited bucolic landscapes at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français, where he developed an impastoed line, making the atmospheric evolutions on the greenery almost tactile and tangible.
