Batz" in lead below the image, very good condition, framed behind glass, image dimensions approx. 21.7 x 18 cm, sheet dimensions approx. 53 x 40 cm. Artist info: German painter, graphic artist and photographer. Painter, graphic artist and photographer (1905 Velbert - 1986 Wuppertal), 1925-27 attended the Elberfeld School of Crafts and Arts and Crafts, travelled extensively, 1928 produced his first artistic photographs in the style of New Objectivity, from 1929 studied at the Bauhaus in Dessau under Josef Albers, Joost Schmidt, Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee, from 1931 studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy, where he was a master student of Paul Klee, Friendship with Jankel Adler, 1932 participation in the exhibition "Das junge Rheinland" in Düsseldorf, 1935 trip to Switzerland and Italy, from 1947 member of the "Donnerstag-Gesellschaft" in Alfter near Bonn, 1954-62 occupation with informal painting, 1959 participation in documenta II in Kassel, numerous study trips at home and abroad, source: Wikipedia.

Copy numbered 1515/5000, on Vercors wove paper watermarked with Jean-Paul Sartre's signature. Sartre, a French writer and philosopher, was born in Paris in 1905, and died in the same city in 1980. He was the author of a prolific body of work. He is also known as Simone de Beauvoir's companion. Famous works: L'Être et le néant, Les Mots, L'Existentialisme est un humanisme, etc. Illustrated with original lithographs by Walter Spitzer (54). Good condition.
