Beautiful Louis XVI period wood and leather CHAISE A PORTEUR with a green background painted with gilded interlacing friezes, molded border friezes and scrolls at the corners, topped by four gilded bronze feather dusters. It opens onto three windows, which can be fitted with frosted glass (one damaged at a corner) or lacquered wood shutters recessed into the vertical jambs. The door opens with a bronze handle to reveal an interior upholstered in flowered silk and featuring a bench seat. Four irons on the sides allow the chair sticks to slide in. 18th century Good overall condition, with minor restorations.
