Graupner, Gotthard (Erlbach 1930 - 2013 Düsseldorf). Cushion picture. Color silkscreen from 1965, signed. 34.5 x 27.5 cm; sheet size 49 x 38.5 cm - Graubner, who was a professor of free painting at the Staatliche Kunstakademie Düsseldorf for many years, explored color as a subject of painting in his work. He created abstract paintings by stretching the two-dimensional canvas on the stretcher frame over a thick layer of synthetic absorbent cotton. He created objects that he called 'cushion paintings' - Pink figure resembling a cushion print on greenish paper - Two minimal backed edge tears.
