Loose booklets with illustrated OU, together in 2 illustrated OLwd. covers (altogether somewhat dusty, OU. occasionally with small tears).- Dr. Hans Josef Sachs (Breslau 1881 - 1974 New York), chemist and dentist, began collecting posters and commercial graphic works at an early age. By the end, his collection comprised around 12,300 posters and around 18,000 smaller works. In 1905, he founded the Verein der Plakatfreunde (Association of Poster Friends), which was joined by collectors and art lovers as well as scientists, advertising experts and poster artists. From 1910, the magazine 'Das Plakat' was published. The increasingly clear view of advertising as an economic rather than an artistic matter led to conflicting ideas among the poster friends and finally to the dissolution of the association in 1921 - Volume 11 was published in 12 single issues, volume 12 in 10 single and 2 double issues - Some browning.
