Wolffheim I, 1127 and Lipperheide Pg 6.- Title edition of the first edition of 1722.- The Roman Jesuit scholar Filippo Bonanni (1638-1725) was a pupil of Athanasius Kirchner and from 1698 curator of his museum, for which he published the catalog 'Musaeum Kircherianum' in 1709. In this work, he describes the Collegium Romanum's rich collection of musical instruments, including curiosities such as Todini's mechanical organ and numerous Asian and African instruments. The magnificently illustrated work, one of the last great works on instrumentology of the older period, shows the instruments in use with a player in full figure and costume. 21 copper plates are missing. The pagination jumps from page 166 to page 171, but the table of contents at the end 'Indice delle materie' is paginated with the page numbers 167-170.- 2 crowned bookplates on mirror ('Library Brocket Hall' and 'Panshanger').
