Magnificent sauce boat in the shape of a swan Originally designed for the swan service. The fully sculpted depiction of a swan with finely reliefed plumage, carrying a wreath of flowers around its neck, decorated by a putto with sparingly gold-accented relief blossoms. Subtle polychrome painting. Designed by Johann Friedrich Eberlein, 1738. shape no. 05225. sword mark. H. 19 cm. L. 27 cm. Inscribed in Eberlein's work report as "Eine Sociere von einem Schwan und einem Kindel neu von Thon posiert." Cf. The wall with fine shell-shaped relief decoration of two swans facing each other, a flying heron and a heron standing between tall reeds. Colored Indian flower decoration and cartouche-framed polychrome flower painting on the front. Combed gold edge and staffage. Designed by Johann Joachim Kaendler and Johann Friedrich Eberlein.
