Model of the American battleship U.S.S. Arizona Anonymous Preformed hull with red bottom, black and gray waterline on top. Deck painted beige and well detailed with anchors, chains, jack staff, 12 to 14 inch main batteries, anti-aircraft guns, boats, cranes, fans, birdcage masts, searchlights... 20th century L. of display case 67 cm The U.S.S. L'Arizona was a Pennsylvania-class battleship built for the U.S. Navy in the mid-1910s. She was the second (and last) of the "super-dreadnought" class of battleships. The Arizona was commissioned in 1916 and escorted President Woodrow Wilson to the Paris Peace Conference in 1918. Several years later, she was transferred to the Pacific Fleet, where she remained for the rest of her career. In April 1940, he and the rest of the Pacific Fleet were transferred from California to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, to deter Japanese imperialism. During the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, the Arizona was bombed, exploded and sank, killing 1,177 officers and crew. Unlike most of the other ships sunk or damaged that day, the Arizona could not be fully salvaged, although the Navy did remove parts of the ship for reuse. The wreck still lies at the bottom of Pearl Harbor.
