Painted wood and gilded brass shipyard half-model of the cargo ship SS "Victor Hugo" in its display case. Two-color hull. Well-detailed deck with chimneys, lifeboats and cockpit. Circa 1909 Size of display case: 56 x 230 x 26 cm L. model 190 cm She was built in 1909 by Sir Raylton Dixon & Co, Cleveland Dockyard, Middlesborough, England for Delmas Freres, La Rochelle, France. The freighter was sold in 1913 to shipowners Mathiesens in Berge, Norway, and was renamed SS Imataca 07.02. 1915 in the North Atlantic while on a ballast voyage from Bergen (Norway) to Baltimore (USA). She was abandoned shipwrecked.
