Model of the J-Class "Endeavour Mahogany base with display case 20th century Size of display case 100 x 78 x 27 cm The S/Y "Endeavour" was designed by Charles Ernest Nicholson and built with a steel hull by Camper & Nicholson in 1934. She was equipped with pioneering features such as the quadrilateral genoa, a double clew headsail and modern four-speed winches. She failed in her America's Cup challenge against the American defender. "Rainbow", but came closer to lifting the cup than any other until Australia II succeeded in 1983. The result of the race gave rise to the headline "Britannia rules the waves and America waves the rules. "SY" Endeavour underwent a complete restoration from 1984 to 1989 by the shipyard. Royal Huisman in Holland and another in New Zealand in 2014.
