Pocket watch: verge watch with extremely rare movement, James Rousseau London, ca. 1750 Pair case, ca. Ø50mm, ca. 97g, both cases later especially made for the movement, silver and tortoiseshell, movement of greatest rarity, silver decorations, set with stones, both the cock and all the pillars, probably tourmalines, very well preserved enamel dial, fine steel hands, intact. We know of no comparable verge movement from this period with such decoration. It is possible that this is a unique piece. Unfortunately, the original possibly precious case has disappeared.
