Pocket watch: fine gold/enamel verge watch with paillone enamel, Vaucher Paris around 1780 Ca. Ø40mm, approx. 52g, 18k gold, very elaborately enamelled, wonderful paillone technique, signed verge movement, signed enamel dial, pink gold hands, intact, verge watch of high quality and by a renowned Parisian maker. Daniel Vaucher was born in Fleurier and moved to Paris in 1760, where he became a master watchmaker. His wife and six children remained in Fleurier and later moved to Paris. Jonas-Frédéric Vaucher, Jean-Henri-David Vaucher, François Vaucher, Jean-Jacques Vaucher, Samuel Vaucher and daughter Isabelle-Salomé Vaucher became watchmakers. Outstanding watches from this family were usually signed 'Vauchez en la Cité'.
