Important bronze depicting a peasant with a buffalo ridden by a child, Indochina, circa 1900 With a brown patina, the group shows a water buffalo with its left foreleg raised, carrying on its back a child dressed simply in a short tunic and a removable hat on its back. Beside them stands a barefoot peasant wearing rolled-up pants encircled by a textile tied above the hips. He is probably holding a tool in his left hand and a stick in his right. Stamp showing a perfume burner in an escutcheon on the edge of the terrace. Height: 48 cm; terrace dim.: 54 x 36 cm
