Soaponnerie knotted-stitch carpet, probably woven at the Gobelins factory, with a green background and polychrome decoration centered on a flowery rosette on a cream background within a wreath of flowers and a laurel wreath, flanked by baskets of flowers and foliage (large fragment). and foliage (large fragment). Wear and accidents, as is. First Empire period. Stencilled mark "GMT 12992". W. 470 x D. 410 cm. Provenance - Probably Garde-meuble impérial under the reign of Napoleon I. - Former property of the Mobilier National, sold by the Administration des Domaines, in Saint-Maurice (Val de Marne), on July 3, 2009, under n° 15. It was indicated that it would come from the Élysée Palace. - Deburaux sale (Art Richelieu), Drouot, December 8, 2010, lot 516 (sold for €10,600). - Private collection, Paris.
