Handwritten document signed "Ale. Berthier", then Minister of War, Paris, 21 floréal an 10 (=11 mai 1802), 1 p. in-4 on the letterhead of the Département de la Guerre, 2e division, Bureau du Recrutement, allowing citizen Pierre Roger to remain in his home to be employed on the Travaux du Pavé de Paris. Attached is a L.A.S. from his brother Léopold Berthier (1770-1807), brigadier general, 1 p. in4, Paris, 7 nivôse an 8 (=December 28, 1799) to the captain rapporteur to the 2nd council of war of the 19th military division (he authorized General Guérin to form a council of officers of the regimental corps).
