BONAPARTE (Napoléon, 1769-1821),

Piece printed and handwritten on vellum with signature (by secretary) "Bonaparte" (First Consul of the Republic), Paris, 8 germinal an 9 (=29 mars 1801), in-folio (45 x 35 cm), Brevet de général de division pour Louis Antoine Choin de Montgay, baron de Montchoisy (with his service record, campaigns, actions and wounds), countersigned by the Minister of War, Marshal Louis Alexandre BERTHIER, and by the Secretary of State, Hugues-Bernard MARET (Duc de Bassano). General and Baron d'Empire Louis Antoine Choin de Montchoisy joined the French Army in 1765, served in the campaigns of 1792, 1793, Years IV, VII, VIII and IX, and before the Revolution took part in the North American campaigns under Rochambeau between 1779 and 1783. His name is inscribed on the north side of the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile. Cold stamp. Good condition. Lot presented by Elvire POULAIN-MARQUIS, expert (06 72 38 90 90).
