A rare Japanese porcelain candlestick with kakiemon-style decoration mounted in gold and vermeil, in the form of a stylized shell, the border highlighted with molded fillets; the lower part of the bulb is decorated with fillets. The grip is chased with a shell and a fall of fleurons on a finely amatized background; grip ring under the grip. Porcelain: Japan circa 1700. The gold and vermeil setting: Paris 1726-1732.
