Thick hand-knotted woollen rug decorated with a Buddhist symbol.

Provenance: Sandro VOLTA Collection (1900-1986) and descendants.
Sandro VOLTA, writer, journalist and art collector, signed the preface to his friend Tristan Tzara's "Manifesto of Dadaism". On May 16 and 17, 1957 at Hôtel Drouot, part of his collection was sold by Maître Rheims. Sansdro VOLTA was a correspondent for the newspaper LA STAMPA in China and Tibet from 1925 to 1932.
Lots will be delivered free of charge to LA SALLE 20 rue DROUOT-PARIS the day after the sale (Saturday, May 4) or a few days after the sale to GALERIE 18, rue Grange-Batelière (25 meters from Hôtel Drouot), otherwise shipment from FRANCE at the buyer's expense by the carrier of his choice.
