Bijoux du cheval - Tibet (1900-1920)

A horse's forehead rug made of wool, hand-woven and hand-knotted in Tibet. It was placed on the horse's forehead at the head of the caravan. Good condition. Dimensions: 25 x 23 cm Provenance: Sandro VOLTA Collection (1900-1986) and descendants. Sandro VOLTA, writer, journalist and art collector, signed the preface to his friend Tristan Tzara's "Manifeste du dadaïsme". On May 16 and 17, 1957 at Hôtel Drouot, part of his collection was sold by Maître Rheims. Sansdro VOLTA was a correspondent for the newspaper LA STAMPA in China and Tibet from 1925 to 1932.
