First published in June 1857 by Poulet-Malassis and De Broise, this first edition of Les Fleurs du Mal was condemned two months later. The six poems concerned here are Les bijoux ; Le Léthé ; A celle qui est trop gaie ; Lesbos ; Femmes damnées ; Les métamorphoses du vampire . These first-edition copies differ in the following ways: on p. 31 and p. 108, the common title Les Fleurs du Mal is printed as "Les Feurs du Mal"; page 45 is numbered 44...
