Arthur Luiz Piza (1928-2017)
TC 6 2011 Ceramic intaglio signed, numbered 2/8 and titled on back H. 47 cm L. 55 cm Brazilian artist and student of Antonio Gomide, Piza first explores paper collages, then sculpture in a search for space. He uses all kinds of materials, some of them unusual. "I feel close to the soul of the Amazon Indians, who see the multicolored flashes of birds pass through the tight, almost dark weave of the jungle".
Arthur Luis Piza is an artist guided by a "desire for order that never materializes" (Paulo Sérgio Duarte).
