Lot of 14 jewelry drawings on tracing paper in pencil enhanced with polychrome gouache, nine of which countersigned in red pen (signature indecipherable), covering ten modernist jewelry designs probably created for Georges BRAQUE (see exhibition catalogs), including fish, birds, abstract forms, sometimes enhanced with blue enamel, diamonds, lapis lazuli, malachite and onyx, a drawing of a painter's palette, and a photograph of a medallion featuring a face enhanced with blue felt-tip and countersigned by Jean COCTEAU. Paul TOUZET, a designer and jeweler active from the 1940s to the 1970s, worked in the family tradition for VAN CLEEF & ARPELS, BOUCHERON and STERLE. He is also said to have worked with Georges BRAQUE and Jean COCTEAU on their jewelry. His creations are typical of French and Parisian jewelry production during the Trente Glorieuses.
