Important oriental saber of a senior staff officer Handle with ebony plates (cracked), two rivet buttons and lanyard eyelet. Guard with long double chain, two straight quillons ending in olive, circular spider web in the center. Strongly curved, damascus-backed blade. Metal-stitched chagrin-covered wooden scabbard with chased and engraved brass cap and bolt, fully debased on the obverse and decorated with foliate scrolls. Two bracelets with amati backgrounds, decorated with leonine bullheads on the obverse and four-lobed foliage on the reverse. First third of the 19th century. A.B.E.
