Saint Cyr 1878, Algerian and Tunisian campaigns between 1880 and 1885. At the start of the war, he was colonel of the 46th RI, seriously wounded at Vassincourt on 09/14/14, with one leg amputated. Promoted to brigadier general in 1915, he was appointed governor of the Invalides.
