Jean COCTEAU (1889-1963) - Visage, 1958 - Terre cuite in low relief, signed, dated and located Villefranche - On verso: An original colored pencil drawing "Profil"- Marked: "Atelier Madeline Jolly Villefranche sur Mer, France" - A small chip on the back of the plate does not alter the overall quality of the work. -Diameter 29.6 cm - Note: Marie-Madeleine Jolly (1914-1963) studied at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, where she and her companion Philippe Madeline met Jean Cocteau in 1957; they introduced her to ceramics and then edited her work in their Villefranche-sur-mer studio.
