Schilling, Alfons. 2 autobinary stereoviews. Each C-print on smooth paper. Each signed and dated lower right in pencil. 2002. motif dimensions: 25 x 18 cm. Sheet dimensions: 30 x 21 cm. Alfons Schilling (1934-2013), who is considered a pioneer of Viennese Actionism among other things, worked with stereo images in the 1990s. These autobinary works transform a panel painting into a double image. However, only with one aid, a prism, which viewers have to hold in front of one of their eyes. Schilling created these autobinary stereo images mostly in acrylic on hardboard. The present prints are based on these pictures. - Both sheets mounted on the verso in the upper margin in the corners under passepartout, one sheet slightly light-stained, the corners and edges partly minimally rubbed, the other sheet minimally browned.
