Hrdlicka, Alfred. The assassination of Marat. Bronze, dark patina. Monogrammed on the left side and with stamped numbering, below with foundry stamp "Guss A.Zöttl Wien". Specimen: 4/59. 1987. dimensions: 10 x 13 x 7 cm. Lewin 206a. - The bronze depicts the scene of the assassination of Jean-Paul Marat, who was stabbed to death by Charlotte Corday in 1793 while lying in a bathtub. - Patina somewhat rubbed, slightly dusty in places and with fine scratches on the underside.
