The drawings show a city view of Ischia and a flowering cactus. - Ernst Bursche (1907-1989) was a master student of Otto Dix in Dresden from 1930 and a member of the Dresden Secession from 1932. After the National Socialists seized power, he was initially imprisoned and his art was defamed as "degenerate". After moving from the GDR to West Germany in 1962, he spent time in Düsseldorf and on the island of Ischia. - Sheets minimally browned, both works with small pinholes in the corners.
