The mixed media by Werner Berges (1941-2017) is characterized not only by the pastel, harmoniously coordinated colour scheme, but above all by its sketch-like character: all the colors are lined up at the lower edge of the picture as if in a paint box and are connected by incised lines to the places in the picture where the colors were used. - The cardboard has been fully mounted on a backing, in some cases with heavy rubbing and a few color flaking, in places with tiny stains.
