With etched illustrated title, 8 pages of etched text with small vignettes, 8 colored full-page original etchings, extra suite of the 8 etchings in brown and etched illustrated imprint. Paris, unpublished, 1932. 8 double sheets 25 x 20 cm. Loose in original dust jacket with engraved cover title and vignette, in half cloth portfolio of the time. One of 79 (GA 99) hand-numbered copies on chamois-colored laid paper, here specially illustrated with the suite of etchings in brown. - Dutel II, 1722 - Drouot, Imp. Biblio. 35: "Le chef-d'oeuvre érotique de Bécat. Très rare" - not in Pia. - The unnamed artist is Paul-Emile Bécat (1885-1960); this series of illustrations is his most famous erotic work. - Each etched text page is accompanied by one of the eight very erotic, direct and vivid original etchings, as well as an etched title page and an etched imprint. The text pages contain variously designed chapter initials and final vignettes, some of which are very comical. - A fine copy of this very rare set. - Provenance: From the collection of Hans-Jürgen Döpp, Frankfurt.
