Grotesque fantasy creature from a cabinet of curiosities. 19th/20th century, a grotesque, monstrous fantasy creature composed of animal bones, crab claws and shells with a fossilized shark's tooth as a nose, glass eyes and a blue agate as a tongue, mounted on an 18th century turned and painted wooden base. The square ebonized base plate later. Height: approx. 34 cm.
