Large library globe from Columbus-Verlag. Berlin, around 1950, marked "Columbus Erdglobus, politische Ausgabe, bearbeitet von Dr. Karlheinz Wagner, Columbus-Verlag Paul Oestergaard K.G., Berlin und Stuttgart", the globe as a papier-mâché sphere covered with 12 color-printed paper segments, freely rotatable full circle meridian made of nickel-plated brass with 2 x 90° graduation, the elaborately crafted wooden frame in oak. Globe diameter: approx. 51 cm. Total height: approx. 98 cm. Rare edition by the Columbus publishing house, this variant cannot be found in the relevant literature or in any public collection, the shape of the frame based on the "Grossglobus für Staats- und Wirtschaftsführer", also published by the publishing house in the 1930s and 1940s.
