With old colored title copper and 38 (37 double-page sized) colored copper maps. Amsterdam, J. Blaeu, 1667. Elaborately gilt-stamped parchment binding of the period, monogrammed O.F.V.S. (dusty, cover somewhat bent open, capitals torn approx. 2 cm). Van der Krogt 2:611.3 - "As with all productions by the firm Blaeu, the engraving and layout and elegance of decoration are all of the highest standard." (Shirley 428). - Contains, among others, the maps of Germany Moravia, Silesia, County Glatz, Styria, Vogtland, Meissen, Anhalt, Brandenburg, Ruppin, Mecklenburg, Elbe, Bremen Fjord, Magdeburg, Halberstadt, Hildesheim, Westphalia, Oldenburg, Hesse and Upper Swabia. - The beautiful old colored maps with figurative cartouches, vignettes, coats of arms, depictions of ships etc. - The Danube map included as a fragment (approx. two thirds). - Inner mirror with engraved armorial bookplate. - Some maps with tear in the centerfold up to the image, partly with some waterstaining in the lower white margin, some creases, somewhat stained and slightly browned.
