Esslingen, J. F. Schreiber, 1894. 35.3 x 25.5 cm. Original half cloth with color illustrated front cover (somewhat rubbed, handwritten title on spine, spine with later staples). Rare first edition with witty and imaginative transformation pictures. - Krahé, Spielwelt 125 - Ries 95 - Stuck-Villa I, 438 - Contains: Das Gigerl auf dem Eise, Der Neger in der Fremde, Der Maler oder das unterbrochene Studium, Der widerspenstige Esel, Die Fischerin and Der dumme August oder im Cirkus. - By shifting the four horizontal strips vertically, a completely new picture appears. "With his metamorphosis pictures, Meggendorfer once again shows us all kinds of human weaknesses in the most comical way in blind pictures."
