Carter has recorded twelve albums since 1978. In that time, Carlene has released more than twenty singles, three of them reaching the top three on the Billboard country music chart. BW Stevenson , born Louis Charles Stevenson , was a country pop artist. He attended WH Adamson High School with other upcoming musicians such as Michael Martin Murphey, Ray Wylie Hubbard and Larry Groce. Stevenson recorded a contemporary Christian album, Lifeline, produced by his next door neighbour from Beverly Hills, California, Chris Christian, which found success on Christian radio with the hit "Heading Home". His album, Rainbow Down The Road, was completed posthumously and included a duet with Willie Nelson on "Heart of the Country". Author Jan Reid devotes a chapter to Stevenson in his book The Improbable Rise of Redneck Rock , and calls him "The Voice". James Williams was a member of the Texas rock band "Playboys of Edinburg" in the mid-1960s. Brother Michael teamed up with him in '73 and they recorded simply as "James and Michael". In 1982 they became a country band, "The Younger Brothers", and signed with MCA. There was already a Younger Brothers band in Leola, PA, so they changed their name to "James & Michael Younger". Bill Haley and His Comets (original name Bill Haley & His Comets) was an American rock and roll band formed in 1952 that continued until Haley's death in 1981. The band, also known as Bill Haley and The Comets and Bill Haley's Comets or other similar variations, was one of the first groups of white musicians to play rock and roll, bringing this new, African-American musical style to the attention of audiences at home and around the world.
