Festive day icon Russia, 19th cent, inscribed in Church Slavonic, blocked, vaulted hardwood board with two sponki on the reverse (one missing), tempera over chalk ground, richly gilded, partly ornamentally engraved and punched, Kovcheg, central depiction of the Madonna "unburnt thorn bush", framed by 12 panels with the feast days of the Orthodox Church, minimal traces of age, dimensions 34.5 x 29.5 cm.
