A 19th century continental silver and enamel box, unmarked, rectangular form with canted corners, engraved silver borders of the white blue enamel panels, the hinged cover with an oblong enamel picture of a woman with red and white drapery next to a peacock, with a gilded interior, length 10.6cm, approx. weight 4.3oz. Provenance: A Private Collection. Purchased from Christie's, South Kensington, 28 October 1997, lot 279.
